As per the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act), the following members have been appointed to the Sexual Harassment Committee of Hajjim Shadik Begam Mahavidyalaya.

1. Chairperson

MRS. MUMTAJ KHAN Gender: Female Role: Responsible for heading the committee and ensuring impartial handling of complaints

2.Faculty Members

  • VIJAY SHAKYA Gender: Male Role: Assists in the inquiry process and offers support in investigations.
  • MR. QASIM KHAN Gender: Male Role: Participates in discussions and decisions relating to complaints and assists in awareness programs

3. Non-Teaching Staff Representative

Committee Responsibilities
  • Awareness Programs: The committee will organize workshops, training sessions, and seminars to educate students, faculty, and staff about sexual harassment and promote gender sensitivity.
  • Complaint Handling: The committee will handle all complaints of sexual harassment, maintain confidentiality, and ensure timely and fair resolution.
  • Inquiries and Resolution: Investigations will be conducted following principles of natural justice, and both complainant and respondent will be provided with the opportunity to present their case.
  • Recommendations: Based on the inquiry, the committee will recommend corrective actions such as warnings, apologies, disciplinary actions, or referral to law enforcement if necessary.
Complaint Filing Process
  • Written Complaint:Any individual can file a written complaint addressed to the Chairperson of the committee. Complaints should be filed within 3 months of the incident.
  • Processing Time: The committee will complete the inquiry within 90 days of receiving the complaint.
  • Confidentiality:The identity of the complainant, respondent, and witnesses will be kept confidential at all stages of the investigation.
  • Action and Resolution: After completing the inquiry, the committee will submit its findings and recommendations to the college administration within 10 days.
Timelines
  • Filing a Complaint: Within 3 months of the incident.
  • Inquiry Completion: Within 90 days.
  • Submission of Report: Within 10 days after the inquiry.
  • Appeal Process:An appeal can be filed within 90 days if either party is dissatisfied with the decision.
