Fee Refund Policy
1. Applicability
This Fee Refund Policy, in accordance with UGC guidelines, is applicable to all undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma programs offered by universities and higher education institutions (HEIs) recognized by the UGC. It covers instances where students withdraw from a program and request a refund of the fees paid at the time of admission.
2. Refund Timelines and Amounts
The following refund guidelines apply based on the date of withdrawal:

Full Refund:
- Eligibility: Withdrawal on or before 15 days of the last date of admission.
- Refund Amount: 100% of the fees paid, excluding a processing fee of up to ₹1,000.

90% Refund:
- Eligibility: Withdrawal between 15 days and 30 days before the last date of admission.
- Refund Amount: 90% of the total fees paid.

80% Refund:
- Eligibility: Withdrawal between 31 days and 45 days after the last date of admission.
- Refund Amount: 80% of the total fees paid.

50% Refund:
- Eligibility: Withdrawal between 46 days and 60 days after the last date of admission.
- Refund Amount: 50% of the total fees paid.

No Refund:
- Eligibility: Withdrawal after 60 days from the last date of admission.
- Refund Amount: No refund will be issued after this period.
3. Processing Fee

In cases where a full refund is applicable, the institution may deduct a processing fee not exceeding ₹1,000. No other fees or charges should be deducted from the refund amount.
4. Mode of Refund

The refund should be processed within 15 days of receiving the request for withdrawal. The refund will be issued to the student or the parent/guardian who paid the fees.
5. Refund of Hostel Fees

If the student has paid hostel or accommodation fees and withdraws from the institution, the refund of hostel fees will be determined on a pro-rata basis, depending on the number of months or days the student has used the accommodation facilities.
6. Cancellation of Admission by the Institution

If an institution cancels a student's admission due to non-compliance with eligibility criteria or any other reason, the institution must refund the full amount of fees paid by the student, excluding the processing fee, within 15 days of cancellation.
7. Penalties for Non-Compliance

Institutions failing to comply with the UGC guidelines for fee refunds are subject to penalties by UGC. These penalties may include financial fines or other disciplinary actions against the institution.
8. Special Circumstances

For students who withdraw for valid reasons, such as health issues or family emergencies, institutions are encouraged to be lenient in the refund process, even beyond the prescribed timelines.
9. Public Notification

Institutions are required to clearly display their refund policies on their websites and prospectuses. This ensures that students are fully aware of the refund rules before enrolling.
